April 25, 2025 - Unlocking Emotional Balance with 3 Ear Points

Finding emotional balance in today's world can be a challenge. Today, I am sharing three key ear points I use with almost every treatment: Shenmen, Sympathetic, and Zero Point. These little points might be small, but they do so much to support emotional regulation and overall well-being.

Each of these points has its own unique strengths:

  • Shenmen or ‘Spirit Gate’ is wonderful for calming the mind and easing stress.

  • Sympathetic helps the body settle out of “fight or flight,” allowing the body to relax and heal.

  • Zero Point is all about realignment and balance, helping you find your center.

Magic happens when these three work together. There’s a kind of synergy that supports the body and mind in finding their way back to a sense of calm, clarity, and balance. I’ve found myself using them more and more because they’re so versatile, and they seem to help with so many of the things we all face—whether it’s stress, emotional overwhelm, or just needing a moment of reset.

Ear Seeds - Acupuncture To Go!

A great way to continue healing post treatment is with ear seeds. What are they?

They are tiny stainless steel (or other material) ‘seeds’ that are placed on ear points using a small adhesive. Following a treatment, the ear seeds are placed on key points in the ear. Most of the time, I will put ear seeds on Shenmen, an organ point (Liver, Spleen, Heart for example) and the Zero point.

Several times per day, you can press on the seeds to activate the points. The ear seeds can be left on the ear for 3-5 days.

Many of my patients have found a lot of assistance with ear seeds. I love that they can continue to assist you in between our sessions.
